PDSA launches new DRTV Commercial
PDSA, the charity that provides free veterinary services to the sick and injured pets of people in need, is breaking with a new DRTV campaign on 8 August 2005. The Advert and supporting materials were created by Watson Phillips Norman, and follows in the success of “Molly” which was launched in 2003.
PDSA is the UK's leading veterinary charity caring for over 4,600 sick and injured pets every day. The charity undertook a major branding campaign at the beginning of the year called “Give something back”.
The DRTV ad continues the “Give something back” theme and also features the voiceover of Andrew Lincoln again, but this time the pets take on more of a staring role. Look out for Poppet, Dougie and Jock, they all suffer from common ailments or everyday accidents, and without PDSA, these pets might not get the treatment they need and could endure long term suffering.
Melanie Graham, PDSA Product Manager for committed giving comments: “DRTV is an important recruitment medium for us and we are optimistic that the new Poppet will be as successful as Molly.
WPN Client Services Director, Gail Cookson commented: “The tremendous success of the first commercial convinced us that 'the ahh factor' was absolutely the right creative direction to engage the public, and convey the serious messages behind PDSA …. The fantastic work the charity undertakes everyday in caring for many of our best friends”.
The Advert was written by Diane Williams, senior copywriter at Watson Phillips Norman and art direction was by Mick Eglinton. Media has been planned and bought by Mike Colling and Co.
