Kevin Whately, the music from 'Gladiator', and Watson Phillips Norman put WaterAid on TV

A new DRTV commercial prepared by the award-winning creative team at Watson Phillips Norman for charity WaterAid starts airing on satellite TV channels from January 7th.

The commercial demonstrates how WaterAid works with third world communities to bring clean, fresh water to people who would otherwise face disease from polluted water supplies. The commercial asks for £2 a month via a direct debit to help their work.

Written by Maria Phillips and art directed by Andy Todd, the team behind the celebrated 'Mirrors' DRTV commercial for CRUK, the commercial features the voice-over talent of Kevin Whately from 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet' and 'Inspector Morse', who donated his time at no charge for the commercial. And the music track features Hans Zimmer's and Lisa Gerrard's 'Now We Are Free' from the soundtrack of the hit movie Gladiator, also donated at no charge.

This is the ninth DRTV commercial produced by the new Watson Phillips Norman agency, all in its first 12 months of operation. The new agency recently won a DMA Bronze award for its DRTV for PDSA, and has just been short listed by the Caples Awards in New York for its radio work for ActionAid.
